The Book Trust's Pyjamarama

On Friday 14th May we celebrated the Book Trust's Pyjamarama day. The aim of the day was to celebrate reading and ensure all children have experiences of listening to a range of stories and to develop a love of reading.

The children and adults came to school in pyjamas and listened to lots of new books and stories.

During the day the children made their own comic books, designed their own pyjamas and performed poems and stories for the rest of the school to see.

The children were very enthusiastic about the day!

“My favourite part of Pyjamamara was coming to school in pyjamas for the whole day!” Year 3 pupil

“I love reading because I learn new words”  Year 3 pupil

"I like reading stories because it makes my brain feel better"  Year 2 pupil

"I like reading stories as it makes me feel brave and calm" Year 2 pupil

All our children enjoyed the day and raised money for such an important charity.

They continued their learning into the next week by learning more about the NSPCC and how they can use them for support if they need it.
