SEN & Disabilities

At Tuckswood Academy we are fully committed to providing an inclusive education for all our children, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). It is our belief that every child has a right to succeed in their learning journey and feel fully supported throughout every stage of their school experience.


Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), Class Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Family Support Practitioner work collaboratively with our SEND children and their families to provide the early identification of any educational needs and support any barriers to learning. Where needs are identified, a graduated approach of assess, plan, do and review is adopted by the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015). A person-centred approach is used to ensure the voice of the child, as well as their families, form the foundation of any support that is put in place.
