A Warm Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to the Tuckswood Academy and Nursery website.

We are very proud of all our children. Our children are open, tolerant and caring of one another. They are individuals and respect differences. They are creative in their approach to education and we seek to encourage and develop this as they move with us through the school. Academic performance is important at Tuckswood however we also encourage the development of the whole child and we aim for our children to develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our curriculum at Tuckswood is bespoke and carefully designed to ensure that we provide our children with the relevant knowledge and skills. At the core of our curriculum you will find a love of reading, writing and mathematics. We believe that English is the key to lifelong learning and our aim is to send every one of our children to High School with a high standard of English skills and a love of reading and books. Throughout the teaching of mathematics we aim for the children to be fluent and to obtain the skills needed to reason mathematically.

We are very much a part of the local community and work hard to develop good links with our parents, the community and the high schools. Our newly established PTA are fantastic and provide an excellent range of competitions for children and parents and the community throughout the year.

Children never come alone and we welcome you as a parent/carer. We hope that you too will become part of this learning community. We offer an open door policy so if you have any unanswered questions, please do not hesitate to come and visit us.

Our staff and children thoroughly enjoy their time here and we hope that you will enjoy our website – hopefully it will give you a flavour of what happens at Tuckswood. If you would like to see more, please contact the school to arrange a visit.

We aim to make all of our staff feel valued and appreciated. It is always a pleasure when parents, carers, family members, governors or members of the public write in to individual staff or to the Headteacher to thank staff for their contribution or hard work with children. We value greatly our partnership with families and working together to achieve the best for our children.
