What are we trying to Achieve?
At Tuckswood Academy we believe that the child is at the centre of everything. We aim to be caring, of the child, of each other, and of the wider community (including parents and carers).
All those involved with Tuckswood Academy and Nursery strive to provide every child with opportunities to acquire the skills and knowledge to enable them to learn the things they need for a lifetime. They are encouraged to be engaged, enthusiastic and cooperative in their learning.
Our Values - The Tuckswood 5
We value all members of our school community. Our children are kind, curious, ready, resilient and proud. Embedding these values enables each child to be successful and ready to face the next stage of their life as global citizens.
We aim to
Our school values underpin the Curriculum Drivers and these link together to allow the children to be the best they can be.
These drivers form the basis of everything we do and how we behave in and around school, from Nursery to Year 6, in all aspects of school life. They also support the teaching of British Values throughout the school.
Knowledge of the World
We believe our children need to develop an understanding about where they live and the wider world. Through learning about the world, we want them to understand their role in society and develop respect towards the environment, communities and religions.Throughout our curriculum we teach the children the skills they need to be tolerant and respectful of others, work cooperatively and be physically and mentally health to enable them to face life's challenges.
We aim to inspire a love of learning in all our children and to raise their aspirations making new futures possible. Through our carefully curated enrichment opportunities children enjoy a wide range of experiences and opportunities.
We know that knowledge is powerful and have designed our ambitious curriculum to ensure that children develop a broad and deep understanding and know more and learn more. We know that language and vocabulary development are crucial to our children’s success, supporting them to fulfil their potential.
